Major League Pickleball Returns to Pictona: Major League Pickleball (MLP) begins a four-day competition Thursday at Pictona, featuring nine teams from the Premier division. The event runs through Sunday, June 8, with matches scheduled on Pictona’s Championship and Grandstand Courts.
The 2025 MLP Daytona Beach event was added to the 2025 season schedule due to construction delays at a St. Petersburg complex. This tournament is part of the Professional Pickleball Association’s team competition.
Top-ranked players Ben Johns of the Carolina Hogs and Anna Leigh Waters of the New Jersey 5s are among the participants. Their teams will face off in the final match on Sunday.
Each head-to-head team match includes men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and two mixed doubles games. If the teams are tied with two wins each, a singles tiebreaker is played.
In the tiebreaker, all team players alternate on the court after every fourth point until a player reaches 21 points. Across the four days, 26 matches will be played.
