Major League Pickleball Shakes Up Saturday: Major League Pickleball (MLP) action continues on Saturday, June 8, 2025, at Pictona at Holly Hill in Daytona Beach, Florida. Eight matches are scheduled on Toray Championship Court and Grandstand Court. Teams are making strategic changes to stay competitive in the second phase of the tournament.
New Jersey 5s Aim for a Comeback
The New Jersey 5s are looking to bounce back after a DreamBreaker loss to the Utah Black Diamonds on Thursday. They will face the SoCal Hard Eights and the Chicago Slice on Saturday. Meghan Dizon is expected to return to the lineup after missing Thursday’s match due to illness. Her comeback could provide a needed boost for the team.
Texas Ranchers Adjust Lineups
The Texas Ranchers are changing their lineup for Saturday’s doubleheader. Helena Jansen will start in place of Etta Tuionetoa in their first match against the New York Hustlers. Jansen will pair with Tina Pisnik in women’s doubles and Christian Alshon in mixed doubles. Etta Tuionetoa will return for the Ranchers’ second match against the Los Angeles Mad Drops. The team has not shared the reason for the switch.

Chicago Slice Welcome Back Callie Smith
The Chicago Slice will have Callie Smith back in action after she missed Friday’s games. On Friday, the Slice beat the New York Hustlers in regulation and lost to the SoCal Hard Eights in a DreamBreaker. With matches against the St. Louis Shock and New Jersey 5s on Saturday, Smith’s return is well-timed. She and Vivian Glozman are expected to play together for the first time since Glozman joined the team earlier this week.
SoCal Hard Eights Rely on Young Talent
The SoCal Hard Eights will start 17-year-old Jalina Ingram on Saturday. She’s stepping in for Irina Tereschenko, who is out with a lower body injury. Ingram has a 2-0 record this season in mixed doubles with Blaine Hovenier. SoCal is scheduled to play the New Jersey 5s and the St. Louis Shock, making it a big day for the young player.
Top Match: Texas Ranchers vs. Los Angeles Mad Drops
The most exciting match on Saturday could be the Texas Ranchers against the Los Angeles Mad Drops. Texas had a rough start in Florida with a loss to the Carolina Hogs but recovered with a 4-0 win over the Utah Black Diamonds. For the Los Angeles Mad Drops, this will be their first match since beating the St. Louis Shock in a DreamBreaker on Thursday. If the match goes to a DreamBreaker again, Los Angeles may have the advantage.
