Strong Start for New Jersey
The New Jersey 5s started the day with a close win in women’s doubles. Anna Leigh Waters and Meghan Dizon battled to an 11-9 victory against Callie Smith and Vivian Glozman. That opening win set the tone for the team’s strong showing throughout the match.
In the men’s doubles match, Will Howells and Zane Navratil kept the momentum going. They defeated James Ignatowich and Max Freeman with a solid 11-6 score.
Mixed Doubles Show Depth
In mixed doubles, the New Jersey 5s were just as strong. Zane Navratil and Meghan Dizon beat Max Freeman and Callie Smith 11-5 in the first mixed match. In the second mixed doubles game, Anna Leigh Waters teamed up with Will Howells to defeat James Ignatowich and Vivian Glozman 11-7.
Since New Jersey won all four games, a DreamBreaker was not required. The team played with confidence and control in each event, staying sharp from start to finish.

Building Momentum for the Playoffs
With this victory, the New Jersey 5s continue to rise in the standings and build momentum heading toward the playoffs. Their top players—Anna Leigh Waters, Meghan Dizon, Zane Navratil, and Will Howells—have formed a strong and reliable lineup that works well together.
The Chicago Slice, on the other hand, struggled to keep up despite a competitive effort. This loss marks another tough result for them as they try to regroup for their next match.
“It’s a game of runs, as we all know. Teams can get hot, especially teams like Max and James who have good drives and quick hands. So, we just had to not let it bother us and make some adjustments,”. “I think we do a really good job of adjusting our game plan throughout a single game to 11, which isn’t an easy thing to do. It’s not a large time frame to even identify trends and adjust as a result of them, but it’s necessary. We buckled down, executed, and we were able to turn it around.”(Zane Navratil)
