Dink Minor League Pickleball Global Surge: The Dink Minor League Pickleball (MiLP) had its biggest weekend yet, with nearly 1,000 players taking part in 15 events across the United States and China. The competitions happened on the same weekend and drew players of all skill levels to team-based matches using the DUPR rating system.
Record Participation Across Countries
Over one weekend, 12 events took place across the U.S., from Massachusetts to California, while three more happened in China. The total of 15 events drew almost 1,000 players, setting a new record for MiLP participation in a single weekend.
The Dink Minor League Pickleball is growing fast. So far in 2025, it has hosted 126 events, and the number is expected to rise above 300 before the year ends. The league now holds events in 12 countries, and new countries such as Vietnam, China, Puerto Rico, Australia, and Costa Rica are joining in.
Format and Rules of Play
The Dink Minor League Pickleball uses a format based on the Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR). This helps ensure fairness in every match by grouping teams by skill level.
Each team has two men and two women. They compete in four matches: men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and two mixed doubles. If the match ends in a 2-2 tie, the winner is decided by a final tiebreaker called a DreamBreaker™.
Players start by entering local events, then move to state and regional levels. All matches lead up to the biggest event of the year—the 2025 The Dink Minor League Pickleball National Championships. That will be held from December 3 to December 7 at the Pickler Universe in Dallas, Texas.
