Carolina Hogs Pickleball Roster Shakeup: The Carolina Hogs (3-12, 10 points) earned a 3-1 win over the Orlando Squeeze (11-6, 31 points) on Friday in New York City. It was the team’s second regulation win this season and the first match with new players Etta Tuionetoa and Roscoe Bellamy.
Recent Trades Strengthen Roster
The Carolina Hogs have made many trades to improve their lineup. During Waiver Period #2, the team traded Collin Johns and Brandon French to bring in Roscoe Bellamy and Martin Emmrich. They also traded Kaitlyn Christian and cash to the Texas Ranchers for Etta Tuionetoa.
Newcomers Deliver Big Wins
Carolina split the early games, taking women’s doubles while Orlando captured men’s doubles. The Hogs then dominated mixed doubles to clinch the victory. Etta Tuionetoa won both of her games, while Roscoe Bellamy helped secure the final mixed doubles match alongside Tammy Emmrich. They defeated Lacy Schneemann and Federico Staksrud 11-6.
Roscoe Bellamy shared, “Men’s doubles was just a little bit of a slow start. I’ve been out for a bit with an injury, and so I’m just coming back and still getting the feel of things. Mixed doubles went really well—I was able to move a little more, and things just started working out.”
