Bay Area Breakers Pickleball Triumph: Bay Area Breakers secured their third win of the season on Thursday at the Marathon Major League Pickleball event in St. Louis. The team defeated Florida Smash in a close battle held at Chaifetz Arena. The match came down to four intense games, ending with a final score of 3-1 in favor of the Bay Area Breakers.

Battle of the Doubles

The first match of the day featured women’s doubles. Bay Area Breakers players Alix Truong and Angie Walker faced off against Paula Rives and Martina Frantova from Florida Smash. Alix Truong and Angie Walker played strong and won the game 11-5.

Next, in the men’s doubles round, Darrian Young and Jonathan Truong of the Bay Area Breakers took on Cason Campbell and Travis Rettenmaier of Florida Smash. It was a tight match, but Young and Truong won 13-11, giving Bay Area a 2-0 lead.

Mixed Doubles Keeps Things Close

Florida Smash came back strong in the first mixed doubles match. Travis Rettenmaier and Martina Frantova defeated Darrian Young and Angie Walker 11-7, narrowing the gap.

In the second mixed doubles game, Bay Area’s Jonathan Truong and Alix Truong took on Cason Campbell and Paula Rives. This game was very close, but the Truong duo managed to win 11-9, securing the overall match victory for Bay Area Breakers.
