Orlando Squeeze MLP Quarterfinals: The Orlando Squeeze moved into the MLP Premier quarterfinals after defeating the Utah Black Diamonds 3-1 on Friday. Despite missing starter Dylan Frazier due to a hamstring injury, Orlando earned the victory with strong performances from Grayson Goldin, who stepped up in both doubles and mixed doubles.
Goldin Steps In for Frazier
Dylan Frazier was sidelined after sustaining an injury at the Veolia Bristol Open. In his absence, Grayson Goldin paired with Federico Staksrud to win in men’s doubles and teamed with Lacy Schneemann to win in mixed doubles. These victories secured Orlando’s advance after dropping the women’s doubles opener.
Goldin had only just debuted earlier this season in the Squeeze’s final regular-season match against the New Jersey 5s at MLP Salt Lake City, where he also recorded two wins. His presence has quickly made an impact.

Teammates Praise Goldin’s Energy
Federico Staksrud highlighted Goldin’s influence on the court and the bench.
“He played against the 5s back in the last regular season match, and he did a great job. He brought a lot of energy that I think we needed, and his energy when he’s playing and also on the bench is really contagious and helps everybody on the team,” said Staksrud. “I think everybody’s playing better because of him.”
Goldin, who joined the Squeeze in June, expressed excitement about the opportunity.
“There are always butterflies, I mean, this is a first. I think I keep living firsts in MLP, so I’m grateful for that,” he said. “I get to ride this adrenaline high, so I’m just trying to be as present as possible, enjoy the moment as much as I can, and just compete and build everyone up.”
What’s Next for Orlando
The Orlando Squeeze will next face the top-seeded St. Louis Shock later Friday afternoon in the first match of their quarterfinal series. With Goldin showing strong form, the team hopes to keep momentum going against one of the toughest opponents in the league.
