The Dink Minor League Pickleball tournament will take place on September 13-14, 2025, at Boulevard San Juan Bosco 3014, León, Guanajuato, Mexico. Hosted by Luis Huerta, the event brings amateur players together in a fun, team-based competition called the MLPlay™ format. Registration is open until September 10, 2025, with a fee of MXN700 per player, payable as a team.
Tournament Format and Gameplay
The event features the innovative Minor League Pickleball team format. Each team includes four players—two women and two men—and competes in four 21-point games: one women’s doubles, one men’s doubles, and two mixed doubles. If the match is tied 2-2 after four games, teams play a Dreambreaker™, where a singles game rotates players every four rallies until a team reaches 21 points and wins by two.
DUPR Divisions and Rules
Teams compete in divisions based on their aggregate DUPR ratings:
DUPR 20: Maximum 20.99 aggregate
DUPR 18: Maximum 18.30 aggregate, max player 5.10
DUPR 16: Maximum 16.30 aggregate, max player 4.60
DUPR 14: Maximum 14.30 aggregate, max player 4.10
DUPR 12: Maximum 12.30 aggregate, max player 3.60
Once registered, team ratings are locked for the event. Players must have a DUPR account at registration. Non-rated players may participate, with estimated ratings verified by the tournament director.
Single Registrations and Substitutes
Players registering alone can provide their team name and DUPR division, for example, “Mad Drops – 18.” If a player cannot form a team, the director will attempt to place them; unplaced players will be refunded. Substitute players can be added by teams via Swish or by submitting information to the tournament organizer. Substitutes cannot exceed the team’s maximum aggregate DUPR for the division.
