Major League Pickleball Shatters Records: Explosive Growth Signals New Era for the Sport

Major League Pickleball Record Growth: Major League Pickleball (MLP) announced on Tuesday that its 2025 summer season set new records in nearly every business area. The 13-event schedule showed major growth in sponsorship, ticket sales, attendance, media coverage, and social media reach.

Revenue and Attendance Growth

MLP reported that sponsor revenue more than doubled compared to 2024. Ticket sales grew by 84 percent, while attendance rose 37 percent across 50 event days.

Broadcast coverage also expanded. National broadcasters and local partners more than doubled the hours of live distribution. Online platforms saw strong increases, with Pickleballtv minutes watched jumping 141 percent, YouTube views rising 230 percent, and social media impressions climbing 407 percent.

Team Valuation Records

The league also set new highs for team valuations. The Los Angeles Mad Drops reached a record $13 million in a majority stake sale. The Palm Beach Royals set another record with a $16 million valuation as an expansion team.

Commissioner’s Statement

“After a volatile and uncertain start, it’s incredible to look back and see what MLP has become and can do for the sport of pickleball when given the attention and resourcing it deserves,”

said MLP Commissioner Samin Odhwani.

“From the staff, to the team owners, to our leadership at MLP, we will look back on the 2025 season as the jumping off point for MLP to become one of the most prominent sports properties in America.”

Finals in New York City

The DoorDash MLP Finals in New York City also broke records for a single event. CBS’s broadcast of Finals Match 1 between the New Jersey 5s and the Columbus Sliders on August 23 averaged 436,000 viewers, the highest ever for MLP.

Ticket revenue in New York was the league’s best, 79 percent higher than the next top event in 2025. Two sellouts led to average daily crowds of about 1,700 people. Online, nearly 1.5 million YouTube views and almost 20 million social media impressions set new marks.

What’s Next

MLP will continue its momentum with the Edward Jones MLP Cup, held at Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, Texas, from October 31 to November 2. The event will be part of the 2025 Jenius Bank Pickleball World Championships. The full 2026 schedule will be released in the coming weeks.
