Tyson McGuffin’s Grand Rapids Return: In a recent Instagram post, Tyson McGuffin shared his experiences from a Major League Pickleball (MLP) event in Grand Rapids, marking his first visit since the Beer City Open in 2021. The post highlighted his excitement and reflections on past successes in the city that hold special memories for him.

Grand Rapids: A Return to Familiar Grounds

Tyson McGuffin, a key player for the Orlando Squeeze, recently returned to Grand Rapids for an MLP event. This visit was his first since the Beer City Open in 2021. Reflecting on his past successes in the city, McGuffin was excited to be back in a place that holds great memories for him.

Team Performance and Chemistry

The Orlando Squeeze finished in the top six at Grand Rapids, narrowly missing a bronze medal by one match. This performance was a significant improvement from their first MLP event in Atlanta, where the team struggled. McGuffin highlighted the enhanced team energy, camaraderie, and chemistry as key factors in their improved showing.

“Federico and I ended up going 4-1. The girls really are starting to dial in and figure some things out. And so Vivian and Paris are driving a lot more. So that’s good to see as well.” – (McGuffin)

Support from the DeVos Family

One of the event’s highlights was the support from the DeVos family, who are Grand Rapids natives. McGuffin expressed his gratitude for their presence, giving a special shout-out to Ryan DeVos and his parents, Dick and Betsy DeVos.

Despite falling short of a medal in Grand Rapids, McGuffin is optimistic about the team’s progress. “We came leaps and bounds from our very first event.” he remarked. The Orlando Squeeze is gearing up for the next MLP event in Salt Lake City, where they aim to continue their upward trajectory. McGuffin promised an exciting performance, stating,

“The Squeeze is gonna bring the energy and bring the heat. Make sure you tune in—it’s gonna be a show.” – (McGuffin)
