The tournament, a part of The Dink Minor League Pickleball series, will take place at 1060 Ridgewood Avenue, Holly Hill, FL, offering competitors a platform in one of the sport’s most innovative formats.
Tournament Format
This event will feature the MLPlay™ Team Event, an innovative competition format designed to engage both men and women on an equal footing. Teams will consist of four players—two men and two women—competing across four 21-point games, including women’s doubles, men’s doubles, and two mixed doubles.
In cases where teams are tied 2-2, the match will escalate to a Dreambreaker™—a distinctive singles match where one player from each team alternates every four rallies, continuing until one side reaches 21 points and secures a two-point lead.
Prize Money and Incentives
Competitors at the Aetna Elite tournament will not only battle for pride but also for substantial prize money. The DUPR 22 – Aetna Elite division offers the most lucrative rewards, with $2,000 awarded to the first-place team and $1,000 to the runner-up. Additionally, the tournament will present prizes for the best-dressed team and the most creative team name, injecting a spirited and social atmosphere into the competition.
Registration and Rules
Teams will compete in various DUPR divisions, each with specific rating requirements. For instance, the DUPR 20 division mandates that the team’s aggregate DUPR not exceed 20.99. A DUPR account is necessary for all players at the time of registration. Players registering individually without a team will be placed on one if possible, with refunds available if placement cannot be made. Substitutions are permitted as long as the substitute’s DUPR does not push the team’s total beyond the division’s limit.
