MLP New York City Smashes Ticket Sales Record by 50% – Don’t Miss the Epic Central Park Showdown!

MLP New York City Smashes Ticket Sales Record by 50%: As Major League Pickleball (MLP) gears up for its inaugural event in New York City, anticipation is reaching new heights. Anne Worcester, a strategic advisor for the United Pickleball Association, reveals that ticket revenue for the four-day event, dubbed MLP New York City, has already exceeded previous records by 50%.

The tournament, hosted at CityPickle at Wollman Rink in Central Park, will showcase 12 of MLP’s 22 teams in 30 thrilling matches. Local teams such as the Brooklyn Aces, New York Hustlers, and New Jersey 5s are set to bring home-field excitement.

“Recently we’ve seen increased success playing in the markets where we have home teams — like Washington D.C., like Salt Lake City. We’ve seen increased attendance, increased sponsorship, increased community engagement, increased media. New York is going to be even bigger.” – (Worcester)

Event Highlights and Coverage

The event is set to sell 1,650 tickets daily, with prices ranging from $50 to $350 for individual tickets and $160 to $900 for four-day passes. With 4,000 tickets sold so far, general admission tickets for Saturday are nearing a sellout. Fans can catch the action with 28 hours of coverage on MSG Networks and 4 hours on Tennis Channel.

PickleballTV will provide a simulcast and studio coverage, while MLP’s YouTube channel will stream 14 Grandstand Court matches.

In the lead-up to the event, MLP is rolling out an array of promotional activities across New York City. Fans can attend meet-and-greets with players from the Aces and Hustlers, enjoy an exhibition match, and grab free pickleballs in Times Square.

Prominent billboards and digital ads will also be strategically placed throughout the city. Additionally, MLP will renew its sponsorship agreement with Manhattan’s Hospital for Special Surgery, featuring a pro-am event with notable athletes David Tyree and John Wallace.
