A Hot Start
The Frisco Pandas began the tournament on a high note, defeating the Florida Smash and Brooklyn Aces with a score of 3-1 on Day 1. However, Day 2 brought a challenging matchup against the Atlanta Bouncers, where the Frisco Pandas lost a close contest in a Dreambreaker, falling short 19-21. Remarkably, the Frisco Pandas did not compete on Day 3, giving them a chance to regroup before the decisive final day.
The Clutch Performance
As Day 4 arrived, the Frisco Pandas found themselves facing a daunting task. They needed to secure at least two points from their match against the Miami Pickleball Club, who were then ranked as the #1 seed in points per match.
In a nail-biting showdown, the Frisco Pandas excelled in both gender doubles matches, positioning themselves on the brink of playoff qualification. The decisive moment came in mixed doubles, where Tammy Emmrich and Michael Loyd faced off against Bobbi Oshiro and Noe Khlif.
The duo clinched victory with a score of 25-23, propelling the Frisco Pandas past the Brooklyn Aces and Bay Area Breakers to earn that coveted sixth playoff spot.
