Unbelievable Finish! Miami Pickleball Club’s Big Win Over SoCal Hard Eights at 2024 MLP Orlando Playoffs

Miami Pickleball Club’s Big Win Over SoCal Hard Eights: The second semifinal of the 2024 MLP Orlando Playoffs began with a familiar theme: a dominant 3-0 sweep. This time, the Miami Pickleball Club emerged as the victors, delivering a commanding performance against the SoCal Hard Eights. It was the gender doubles matchups that set the tone for Miami’s success, as they secured wins in both events that had eluded them in previous meetings.

Gender Doubles Shine for Miami

Heading into the match, the Miami Pickleball Club’s track record in gender doubles against the SoCal Hard Eights hadn’t been ideal. In their last two encounters, the Miami team was 0-4 in those matchups. But on Friday, the Miami squad came out strong, flipping the script with two early victories in gender doubles.

Milan Rane and Bobbi Oshiro paired up first, delivering a well-executed victory that provided a much-needed spark for the team. Shortly after, Noe Khlif and Eric Oncins kept the momentum going with another solid win, putting the SoCal Hard Eights on the back foot.

The Hard Eights, though undoubtedly talented, struggled to recover from the early setbacks. Miami’s performance in gender doubles not only gave them the upper hand but also solidified their confidence heading into the final mixed doubles matchup.

Oshiro and Khlif Close Out the Sweep in Mixed Doubles

With the momentum firmly on their side, Bobbi Oshiro and Noe Khlif returned to the court for the mixed doubles match. Their opponents, Irina Tereschenko and Max Manthou of the SoCal Hard Eights, fought hard, but Oshiro and Khlif were simply too much.

The Miami duo dominated the match, winning 25-19, and sealing the 3-0 sweep. The victory left the SoCal Hard Eights with a difficult road ahead as they entered the second match of the series.
