A New Twist on Pickleball: The Minor League Format
The Dink Minor League Pickleball event stands out from the pack, offering a fresh approach to competitive play. Teams of four—two men and two women—will compete in an exciting format that introduces new twists on traditional match-ups, scoring systems, and tiebreakers.
This event focuses on fun and social play while maintaining a competitive edge, and it’s designed for all skill levels, as long as teams stay within their respective DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) divisions.
The DUPR divisions are as follows:
- DUPR 12: Team aggregate cannot exceed 12.30, with individual players limited to a maximum DUPR of 3.60.
- DUPR 14: Team aggregate cannot exceed 14.30, with individual players limited to a maximum DUPR of 4.10.
- DUPR 16: Team aggregate cannot exceed 16.30, with individual players limited to a maximum DUPR of 4.60.
- DUPR 18: Team aggregate cannot exceed 18.30, with individual players limited to a maximum DUPR of 5.10.
- DUPR 20: Team aggregate cannot exceed 20.99.
In this format, once a team registers, their ratings are locked, ensuring that any changes in individual player DUPR do not impact the team’s eligibility or division placement.
Key Event Information
- Event Format: Teams of 4 (2 men, 2 women) compete in a unique scoring format.
