Ben Johns and Collin Johns kicked off their final tournament together at the PPA Masters with an 11-9, 11-3 victory over No. 33 seeds Nick Black and Erik Pailet. The match marked the start of their last event as a team, at least for the foreseeable future, after a successful partnership in men’s doubles on the PPA Tour.

Parting Ways for Growth
After this tournament, the Johns brothers will split ways to pursue individual paths. Ben believes this decision will be beneficial for both players.
“I think we’ll both develop in some areas,”. “I feel like we’ve definitely locked in our partnership as far as our roles go, which is great for our partnership, but when you switch, you definitely need to work on some new things and stuff you don’t always expect. I think either way—whether successful or not—we’ll at least grow as players.”(Ben Johns)
Focused on Three-Peat
Despite the impending change, the brothers are fully focused on winning their third consecutive Masters title.
“It was nice to have a little offseason. 2024 was a very long year, so we took some time off, and I think that’s gonna benefit us,”. “We’d definitely like to start off strong and make it three in a row.”(Collin Johns)
Next Challenge Ahead
As the top seeds, the Johns brothers will face either Travis Rettenmaier and Donald Young or Jack Sock and Collin Shick in the Round of 16. The competition promises to be intense as they strive for another title before parting ways.
