Proton Tucson Open Shock: Rafa Hewett and Noe Khlif Take Down Frazier and Tellez in Straight Sets

Rafa Hewett and Noe Khlif Take Down: Rafa Hewett and Noe Khlif continued their strong start to 2025, defeating No. 3 seeds Dylan Frazier and Pablo Tellez in straight sets at the Proton Tucson Open. Their 11-8, 11-8 victory at Tucson Racquet and Fitness Club secured them a spot in the men’s doubles quarterfinals.

Rising Duo Stuns Frazier and Tellez

Hewett and Khlif entered the tournament as the No. 13 seeds but have quickly made a name for themselves with another impressive win. Their aggressive play and chemistry on the court proved too much for Frazier and Tellez, a highly ranked pair known for their consistency.

This victory builds on their earlier success at the PPA Masters, where they took down another top duo, JW Johnson and Gabe Tardio. Their recent performances suggest they are becoming a dangerous team in 2025.

Quarterfinal Clash Set Against Smith and Devilliers

Next, Hewett and Khlif will face No. 12 seeds Pat Smith and Jay Devilliers in a battle for a semifinal spot. Smith and Devilliers bring experience and solid teamwork, setting up a challenging matchup.

With momentum on their side, Hewett and Khlif will look to continue their run and further establish themselves among the top men’s doubles teams this season. Fans can catch the action live on PickleballTV at 1 p.m. ET.
