The PPA Tour Australia will host its first-ever Hervey Bay Pickleball Open from June 27 to June 29, 2025, in Pialba, Queensland. The event, held in collaboration with Pickleball Australia Association and the Hervey Bay Pickleball Club, will feature Pro, Open 19+, Masters, and Juniors pickleball tournaments.
Event Details
The Hervey Bay Pickleball Open will be held at the Hervey Bay Pickleball Club, located at 9 O’Rourke Street, Pialba. Players will compete in a range of events, including singles, mixed doubles, and gender doubles. Juniors will also have their own separate events. The tournament will feature pool play and double elimination formats depending on the number of teams.
Registration Information
Registration for both players and spectators opens on February 19, 2025, at 12:00 AEST. Players can register for up to two events per day, with a registration fee of AUD 80. Junior players can enter for AUD 40, which covers two events. The registration deadline is June 19, 2025.
Event Schedule
The tournament will span three days:
- Friday, June 27: Singles events
- Saturday, June 28: Mixed Doubles and Junior Singles
- Sunday, June 29: Gender Doubles and Junior Doubles
Matches for events with 12 or fewer teams will be played in pool play format, leading into elimination rounds. Events with more than 12 teams will follow a double elimination format.
Prize Money
Prize money will be awarded to the top 3 players in the Pro and Pro Masters divisions across all events. Points will also be earned for “The Race,” which tracks players’ best nine events. The top five players in the Pro and Masters Pro divisions will earn a season-ending bonus.
Parking and Refund Policy
Parking will be free at the venue. PPA Tour Australia offers full refunds for registration cancellations before the close of registration, minus any transaction fees. After registration closes, a medical certificate can ensure a full refund minus the service charges. Once event draws are published, no refunds will be granted unless a medical certificate is provided.
