Another Three-Game Battle

Alshon and Martinez Vich had just met in the Cape Coral final on Sunday, where Alshon claimed his first career PPA singles title in three games. Thursday’s match followed a similar script, with both players splitting the first two games before Alshon took control in the third.

Jumping out to an 8-0 lead, Alshon applied constant pressure to seal the win. His ability to adjust and execute key strategies proved crucial in the victory.

Mental Preparation Key to Success

Reflecting on his preparation, Alshon credited his ability to recall their previous meeting.

“Before this match, I sat with my eyes closed for a few minutes and just tried to relive the match and all the shots I hit. It helped a lot because I was able to envision what was working, what wasn’t working, and what my strategy was after losing the first game last time. I took all of that into this match.” – (Alshon)

Awaiting His Final Opponent

With the semifinal win secured, Alshon will face either Federico Staksrud or Hunter Johnson in Sunday’s championship match. He looks to build on his recent success and claim another PPA singles title.
