Christian Alshon and Federico Staksrud Hold Strong for Finals Spot at Texas Open

Christian Alshon and Federico Staksrud Hold Strong for Finals: Christian Alshon and Federico Staksrud secured a spot in the men’s doubles final at the CIBC Texas Open presented by Fasenra, defeating Hayden Patriquin and Pablo Tellez 11-3, 8-11, 11-3 in the semifinals at Courts of McKinney in McKinney, Texas.

The top-seeded duo started strong, dominating the opening game. They looked in control when they jumped to a 7-1 lead in the second set, but Patriquin and Tellez mounted an impressive comeback, finishing on a 10-1 run to force a third game.

Responding to Adversity

Despite losing momentum in the second game, Alshon and Staksrud quickly regained control in the decider. Capitalizing on unforced errors from their opponents, they pulled away to claim the match and earn their second consecutive finals appearance as a team.

Windy conditions made play difficult for all competitors, requiring extra focus and effort. Staksrud emphasized the importance of movement in such conditions.

“You’ve gotta truly want it and bring a lot of energy and a lot of legs,”. “The legs are especially important today just because the ball is moving up until the last second with the wind, so it’s a lot of extra movement.”(Federico Staksrud)
