Red Rock Open Women’s Doubles: Who Will Rise to the Challenge?

Red Rock Open Women’s Doubles: The PPA Tour moves west this week for the Black Desert Resort Red Rock Open in St. George, Utah. While not the biggest stop on the tour, the city’s strong pickleball community ensures an exciting and competitive tournament. In women’s doubles, top teams enter as favorites, but challengers could shake up the draw.

Waters and Parenteau Lead the Field

Anna Leigh Waters and Catherine Parenteau are the No. 1 seed and the clear favorites. With Anna Bright absent, Rachel Rohrabacher and Parris Todd form a new No. 2 seed pairing. While they have played well, both are more comfortable on the right side, making their half of the draw more open than usual.

The No. 3 seed, Tyra Black and Jorja Johnson, will likely face Waters and Parenteau in the semifinals, setting up what could be the most exciting match of the tournament. Both Black and Johnson are in the discussion for the second-best women’s player right now, and their partnership is strong, with Black on the left and Johnson on the right.

Other Teams to Watch

While Rohrabacher and Todd hold the No. 2 seed, other teams could challenge them. Lucy Kovalova and Lea Jansen, the No. 5 seed, bring experience and consistency. Meanwhile, Mari Humberg and Meghan Dizon, the No. 7 seed, could also make a deep run if they find their rhythm.
