Connor Garnett battled past Christian Alshon in a hard-fought three-game match at the Black Desert Resort Red Rock Open. Garnett, the No. 3 seed, secured a 10-12, 11-8, 11-8 victory at Little Valley Sports Complex in St. George, Utah, to move into the semifinals.

Garnett Overcomes Early Setback
Alshon, the No. 6 seed, made a late push in the first game, erasing a 10-8 deficit and winning four straight points to take the early lead. However, Garnett bounced back, controlling the second game and racing to an 8-2 lead in the decider.
Alshon fought back again, closing the gap to 8-10, but Garnett remained composed and sealed the match soon after. The victory handed Alshon his first singles loss of the month after he won back-to-back titles in Cape Coral and Texas.
Looking Ahead
Reflecting on the match, Garnett praised his opponent’s recent success.
“It was a great battle. A lot of points were so close there and could have gone either way, Christian’s a great competitor, and obviously what he’s been able to do the last couple of tournaments has been awesome. It’s just been fun to be out here and play against him.”-(Connor Garnett)
Garnett advances to the semifinals, where he will face either No. 1 seed Federico Staksrud or No. 7 seed Jack Sock.
