Sock had a dominant start in the singles bracket, winning three consecutive matches to earn a semifinal spot against Connor Garnett, Novak Djokovic’s former hitting partner.
In mixed doubles, Sock paired with Kaitlyn Christian, winning their first match before falling to the No. 13-seeded duo of Allyce Jones and Travis Rettenmaier in the second round.
Sock’s final bracket appearance came on Friday in men’s doubles, alongside Ivan Jakovljevic. Their tournament run was short-lived, as they were defeated in under 45 minutes by Brandon French and Wyatt Stone (11-3, 11-6).
Eugenie Bouchard and Sam Querrey Exit Early
Eugenie Bouchard, another former tennis pro, faced early exits across all three brackets. In mixed doubles, she teamed up with Brandon French, but they lost in the opening round to Victoria DiMuzio and Roscoe Bellamy (11-6, 6-11, 11-7).
In women’s doubles, Bouchard and her partner faced an uphill battle against the No. 1-seeded duo of Anna Leigh Waters and Catherine Parenteau, ultimately falling in a 31-minute match.
Meanwhile, Sam Querrey made his only appearance in men’s doubles on Friday, partnering with Ryan Sherry. With Sock watching from the sidelines, Querrey and Sherry were quickly eliminated by the No. 8-seeded pair of Hunter Johnson and Quan Duong, suffering a 20-minute defeat (11-0, 11-2).
Sock Prepares for Semifinal Battle Against Garnett
Jack Sock now turns his focus to Saturday’s semifinal showdown against Connor Garnett. This marks their sixth meeting on tour, with Sock aiming to secure his second victory against the former Djokovic hitting partner.
