Strong Start Sets the Tone

Waters dominated the opening game, showcasing her precise passing shots and powerful groundstrokes to claim the set in under 15 minutes. Todd, who was set to compete in multiple matches later in the day, took a medical timeout before the second game but returned to continue the match.

Despite a seven-point increase from Todd in the second game, Waters maintained her composure to close out the match in straight games.

“I’m glad that I wasn’t thinking about it to put any extra pressure on myself, especially against a great opponent like Parris. You don’t want to be thinking about other things during a match against her, so I’m super excited to have won 50.” – (waters)

Pickleball on National Television

Waters is set to return to the court later in the day alongside Catherine Parenteau in the women’s doubles final against Etta Tuionetoa and Allyce Jones. The match, along with the men’s singles and mixed doubles finals, will be aired live on FOX National at 4:30 p.m. ET.

“It’s just an amazing experience to be on FOX. It’s great for pickleball, it’s great for me, and it’s great for the fans. It’s even better for the people who don’t even know what pickleball us because they’ll be exposed to it. I’m really excited for it.” – (waters)
