A Strong Comeback After Texas Loss
After suffering their first defeat of the year in Texas, Waters and Parenteau showed resilience and determination to return to the top. Their win came in the first match of the PPA’s FOX National time slot, where they faced strong opposition from Utah favorites Tuionetoa and Jones. Despite the challenge, the top-seeded pair maintained their composure to close out the match in straight games.
Mental Strength and Consistency
Parenteau praised Waters’ unwavering focus and drive, highlighting her ability to push through adversity.
“I’m just so lucky to be Anna Leigh’s partner. She’s got all the shots, but I think her strength is really her mentality. At 18, it’s amazing. She fights for every single point. It doesn’t matter if she’s tired or sick—she’s always going to be there and give 100%.” – (Parenteau)
Waters’ victory in women’s doubles capped off a remarkable day, as she had earlier secured her 50th women’s singles title on the PPA Tour.
Parenteau Eyes Mixed Doubles Title
Parenteau is not done at the Black Desert Resort Red Rock Open. She will return to action in the tournament’s final match, teaming up with Christian Alshon to face Parris Todd and Dekel Bar for the mixed doubles title at the Little Valley Sports Complex.
