A Battle to the Finish

Johnson and Sock split the first two games on Humana Championship Court, with Johnson dominating the opener before Sock responded with a strong second-game performance.

In the final game, Johnson built a 6-2 lead, appearing in control, but Sock rose back with five straight points to edge ahead 7-6. However, Johnson regained his composure, capitalizing on Sock’s missed returns to win the last four points and seal the victory.

Staying Focused on the Process

With his recent success, Johnson has climbed to No. 2 in the PPA rankings, but he remains focused on steady improvement rather than accolades.

“I try not to look at it in terms of the numbers. I try to take it week by week and just learn and enjoy the process. I knew Jack was playing well out here all week, and I knew his forehand was gonna do some damage, and for a while there it was. Luckily, I was able to get some big serves at the end there, and it paid off.” – (Johnson)

Looking Ahead

With another title under his belt, Johnson continues to be a dominant force on the PPA Tour. Meanwhile, Sock showed flashes of brilliance and remains a contender for future tournaments. As the season progresses, both players will look to build on their performances in upcoming events.
