From Pickleball to Disney Dreams: Mary and Maggie Brascia combined their love for pickleball and Disney nostalgia by staying at The Inn at Entrada, the filming location of High School Musical 2, during the Black Desert Resort Red Rock Open in Utah. The tournament setting, along with the chance to see iconic scenes from the movie, made for an unforgettable experience.
A Stay at a Legendary Movie Location
The Inn at Entrada served as the backdrop for many famous moments from High School Musical 2. Mary Brascia shared her excitement about finally visiting the resort, which had been on her family’s bucket list for years.
“My family and I have known about The Inn at Entrada for a couple years now because we knew this is where the amazing and iconic movie was filmed. And we finally had the opportunity to stay there during the tournament,” said Mary Brascia.
The Brascia family had already visited another major filming location from the franchise—East High in Salt Lake City. “We’ve gone on road trips through Salt Lake City and stopped at the high school where they filmed. We took pictures in front of the school and did the tour,” she added.
Exploring Iconic Movie Spots
For Mary Brascia, High School Musical 2 is a personal favorite. “My sisters and I all love the High School Musical films. All three of them. I think for me personally, High School Musical 2 is my favorite because I love the summer vibe.”
During her stay, she visited key filming locations, including the bridge where Troy and Gabriella nearly broke up, the golf course where Zac Efron’s character performed “Bet On It,” and the pool used in the “All For One” scene.
“I saw the bridge where Troy and Gabriella almost broke up. And the golf course where Troy does the ‘Bet On It’ scene. And of course, I saw the pool where they do the ‘All For One’ number. It was amazing to see all these spots and be where the cast was,” she said.
She even stayed in a room that was once used by Olesya Rulin, who played Kelsey. “I actually stayed in the room where Kelsey, the pianist played by Olesya Rulin, stayed. That was really cool to stay in the room where a cast member stayed.”

Pickleball Meets Hollywood Nostalgia
While the movie setting was a huge draw, the resort also offered an excellent pickleball experience. The Inn at Entrada has 12 pickleball courts, and the Brascias used them to prepare for the tournament.
“We used the courts at Entrada to warm up before each tournament day. The courts were so well done and the atmosphere was awesome. We got to interact with a lot of the members and they were super friendly and welcoming. It looks like they have a good pickleball community at the Entrada,” Brascia shared.
The Red Rock Open is known for its stunning backdrop, and the scenic beauty did not disappoint.
“It was so beautiful having the Red Rocks and Snow Canyon in the background. The sunsets and sunrises were just gorgeous and some of the best views I’ve ever seen. I definitely want to go back,” Brascia said.
Looking Ahead
The Brascia family is already considering a return visit to Entrada. In fact, they are in talks to organize a pickleball clinic for the local members at the resort.
The location holds special significance for Mary Brascia. The Red Rock Open was where she won her first gold medal on tour in 2024, making this trip even more meaningful. By combining their passion for pickleball with their love for High School Musical 2, the Brascias turned this tournament into an unforgettable adventure.
