Meghan Dizon and Andrei Daescu’s Stunning Comeback: Semifinal Spot Secured with Dominant Win at Veolia North Carolina Open

Meghan Dizon and Andrei Daescu advanced to the mixed doubles semifinals at the Veolia North Carolina Open with a commanding 11-7, 11-1 victory over No. 3 seeds Catherine Parenteau and Christian Alshon at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, NC. The duo avenged their loss to the same opponents last week.

Turning the Tables

Dizon and Daescu had previously faced Parenteau and Alshon in the quarterfinals of the Black Desert Resort Red Rock Open, where they suffered an 11-1, 11-5 defeat. This time, however, they flipped the script and cruised to a straight-game win.

“We knew we didn’t play our best. We, of course, made some adjustments, but I really have to give props to Meghan. She played an amazing match. She played well the whole day, but especially in this last one. I’m super happy to turn the tables on them and to take their spot in the semifinals.” – (Daescu)

Looking Ahead to the Semifinals

With the victory, Dizon and Daescu move on to face No. 2 seeds Jorja Johnson and JW Johnson in the semifinals. Their dominant performance sets up an exciting matchup as they aim for a spot in the finals.
