Points, Prizes, and Players

The PPA Tour Asia has three types of tournaments: Slam, Cup, and Open. Slam events offer 2,000 points and around $1 million US in prize money. These tournaments include top international pros from the United States, Australia, and Asia. Cup events offer 1,500 points and $500,000 US in prize money. These will mainly feature regional professionals and rising talents.

Open events give 1,000 points and at least $50,000 US in prize money. These aim to grow the sport in local areas and provide a chance for regional players to shine. Points from all events will count toward the PPA Tour Asia Rankings. Players will use the season to climb the rankings and aim for the No. 1 spot.

What This Means for Pickleball

The PPA Tour Asia schedule marks a big step in making pickleball a global sport. By organizing events in key countries, the tour gives more chances for players in Asia to compete at a high level. It also helps grow a fan base in new places.

The addition of major events like the China Slam shows that the sport is expanding fast, and many more tournaments may be added soon. With money, points, and global exposure on the line, players and fans can expect exciting times ahead.
