Angie Walker and Anderson Scarpa Sweep Triple Crowns: Angie Walker and Anderson Scarpa earned Triple Crowns at the 2025 New England PPA Challenger held this past weekend at The Picklr in Westbrook, Maine. They won in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles across three days, showing strong form ahead of their next event at the 2025 Veolia Atlanta Pickleball Championships.
Dominating the Weekend
Angie Walker and Anderson Scarpa began their run on Friday by winning their singles matches. On Saturday, they added doubles titles. Angie Walker teamed up with her sister, Alex Walker, to win women’s doubles. Anderson Scarpa paired with Greg Dow to win men’s doubles.
Their winning streak continued on Sunday. Walker and Scarpa partnered in mixed doubles and captured that title too, securing Triple Crowns for both players.
What the Champions Said
“I’m so, so excited,” said Angie Walker after the mixed doubles win.
“The goal of coming here was to win my matches and put some things I’ve been practicing to work, and I’m just really happy. I think any time that you get match play in a pressurized situation, it’s going to be good for your game. You can’t really replicate that feeling of pressure when you’re out on the court in any other situation than coming to compete.” – (Angie)
Anderson Scarpa was equally pleased with the outcome.
“I came here to get the Triple Crown, honestly, and feel good to have accomplished that goal. We feel ready for Atlanta now. At these main PPA events, I’ll occasionally have a good run—maybe a Round of 16 or a quarter—but a lot of times you’re playing top seeds in the first round or two. It can be tough to get a rhythm going to these tournaments sometimes, so it’s good to come here and get a lot of matches. I’m really happy with the weekend.” – (Scarpa)
Max Wild’s Highlight Moment
Though Walker and Scarpa took home the wins, Max Wild delivered the most talked-about shot of the weekend. His play was called one of the best seen this year on the PPA Tour.
