Waters defeated Brooke Buckner 11-7, 11-5, while Parenteau earned a key victory over Kaitlyn Christian with an 11-6, 11-7 result.

Waters Shows Focus and Control
Anna Leigh Waters, the 18-year-old standout, showed strong form against No. 5 seed Brooke Buckner. Unlike their last meeting in Mesa, where Waters had to come back from a one-game and 0-7 deficit, this match ended in two controlled games.
“I was just really trying to focus on my strategy because against Brooke if you start playing into her game, then bad things can happen. But it takes a lot of mental stability to be able to stick to the game plan because if you’re nervous and the game plan’s tough, sometimes you’ll just want to hit the easier shot and go away from the plan. So, it’s really just about being super focused.” – (Waters)
Waters’ tactical play and mental strength helped her stay in control and avoid giving Buckner any room to shift the momentum.

Parenteau Ends Losing Streak Against Christian
On the opposite side of the bracket, Catherine Parenteau took down No. 3 seed Kaitlyn Christian in straight games. The 11-6, 11-7 win was especially meaningful for Parenteau, the No. 7 seed, as she had lost her last two matchups against Christian.
With this result, Parenteau reasserts her place among the top singles players and moves one step closer to the title in Atlanta.
