Anna Leigh Waters Makes History with Gritty Gold and 34th Triple Crown Victory at 2025 Veolia Atlanta Pickleball Championships

Anna Leigh Waters Makes Pickleball History: Anna Leigh Waters won the women’s singles gold at the 2025 Veolia Atlanta Pickleball Championships by beating Kate Fahey 11-1, 7-11, 11-1. The match took place in Georgia, where Waters also earned her 34th Triple Crown title on the PPA Tour and celebrated her 150th career PPA victory.

Strong Start and Tough Fight

Anna Leigh Waters looked set to win in straight games after taking the first 11-1. In the second game, she led 7-5, but Kate Fahey fought back with a six-point run to win 11-7. This was the first time Fahey took a game off Waters in eight matches between them.

Final Push Secures the Win

In the third game, Waters regained her energy and quickly took control, finishing with an 11-1 victory to secure the gold medal. This win was especially important for Waters after two losses on Championship Sunday in her previous tournament in North Carolina.

“I was definitely fired up after North Carolina. I didn’t think that was my best performance, so I wanted to come out here and prove—not to everybody else, but to myself—that I still had it in me and that I could still fight.” – (waters)

Along with her singles title, Waters also won the women’s doubles gold with Anna Bright at the same event.
