Anna Leigh Waters Makes New Record With Triple Crown Triumph at 2025 Veolia Atlanta Pickleball Championships

Anna Leigh Waters Makes New Record: The 2025 Veolia Atlanta Pickleball Championships wrapped up with big wins for Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns. The tournament took place in Atlanta, where both stars aimed for the rare triple crown—winning singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. Waters achieved hers. Johns came close, but fell short in men’s doubles.

Waters Wins It All, Johns Falls Just Short

Anna Leigh Waters completed a triple crown after winning in singles, women’s, and mixed doubles. Ben Johns also aimed for the same, but couldn’t pull it off. Waters and Johns teamed up in mixed doubles and dominated the field. They didn’t drop a single game across 13 matches. On average, they won each game by a score of 11-3.

After a tough three-game match against Connor Garnett, Ben Johns won his singles title. It was a close contest, but Johns held on to get the win. His last chance at the triple crown came in men’s doubles, but it slipped away.

Men’s Doubles Blocks Johns’ Triple Crown

Ben Johns and Gabe Tardio reached the final in men’s doubles. They got there after a hard-earned win against Christian Alshon and Andrei Daescu. The semifinal score was 10-12, 11-3, 11-4. But in the final, they lost to the strong team of CJ Klinger and JW Johnson. That defeat ended Johns’ chance at a triple crown, something he hadn’t won in a long time.

Meanwhile, Anna Leigh Waters did secure her triple crown. She also won her singles match against Kate Fahey. The scores were 11-1, 7-11, 11-1. She had already won in women’s doubles earlier in the tournament.

What It Means

Waters continues to show why she is one of the best in pickleball. Her triple crown adds to her long list of titles. Ben Johns showed strong form but still seeks another full sweep. The wins in Atlanta may set up more exciting matches in upcoming events.
