Anna Leigh Waters and Anna Bright Dominate Orange County Cup with Unstoppable Doubles Triumph

Anna Leigh Waters and Anna Bright won the women’s doubles championship on Championship Sunday at the 2025 Select Medical Orange County Cup in Southern California. They beat Rachel Rohrabacher and Catherine Parenteau in straight games, 11-2, 11-8, 11-8, to remain undefeated as a team.

The match was played at Life Time Rancho San Clemente and was part of the PPA Tour. This was the second tournament in a row where the same two teams met in the final. Just like last time, Anna Leigh Waters and Anna Bright came out on top.

Back-to-Back Finals, Same Result

Anna Leigh Waters and Anna Bright entered the final as the top seeds. They have played nine tournaments together—seven in 2023 and two so far in 2025—and have not lost a single match. Their strong teamwork showed again in this championship match.

Rachel Rohrabacher and Catherine Parenteau had a good chance to take the second game after going up 8-4. But a 15-point scoring run by Anna Leigh Waters and Anna Bright changed the momentum completely. They used that swing to take the second game and stay in control.

Players React to the Match

Parris Bright shared her thoughts after the match.

“[Catherine and Rachel] came out firing in Game 2, and we kind of had to up our level,” Bright said after the contest. “And then Game 3 was definitely a game of runs. We were able to start ahead and kind of hold on when they had that big late game surge. Congrats to them—it’s really fun playing them in the final.”

For Anna Leigh Waters, this victory was extra special. With this title, she became the first player on the PPA Tour to win 50 titles in singles, mixed doubles, and gender doubles—a milestone called the “Triple 50.”

“I honestly couldn’t do the doubles without Anna, without Catherine, and without my mom. I couldn’t do the mixed without Ben [Johns], so thank you to all my partners for staying strong. It’s definitely not just me out here on the court, so I definitely want to make that statement,” she said. “I’m enjoying every moment, enjoying playing at facilities like this, and today I really enjoyed sharing the court with AB. Hopefully this isn’t my last, but I’m very happy with what I have achieved and what we have achieved.”

A Big Win with Bigger Meaning

This win confirms Anna Leigh Waters and Anna Bright as one of the top women’s doubles teams on the PPA Tour. Their ability to stay strong under pressure helped them extend their unbeaten streak. For Anna Leigh Waters, the “Triple 50” is a historic moment in her young career.

Fans and players alike will be watching closely to see what the duo does next as they aim for even more wins in the 2025 season.
