Judit Castillo won a bronze medal in women’s singles in her first event since signing with the UPA Tour. Grayson Goldin also performed well in men’s doubles, teaming up with Jay Devilliers.
Judit Castillo Returns With Bronze
Judit Castillo returned to the PPA Tour after a six-month break. She had been off the tour due to contract issues but came back strong after signing an exclusive deal with UPA. Despite the time away, she entered the women’s singles draw as the 10th seed.
Castillo began with a tough three-game win over Jessie Irvine, followed by easier wins against Cailyn Campbell and Kaitlyn Christian. She lost in the semifinals to top-seeded Anna Leigh Waters but bounced back to win the bronze medal match against Brooke Buckner.

In mixed doubles, Castillo also pulled off a surprise with partner Wyatt Stone. They were seeded 45th but beat the 19th-seeded team of Zoey Wang and Pablo Tellez.

Grayson Goldin Makes a Strong Impression
Grayson Goldin, also recently signed by UPA, competed in both singles and doubles. In men’s singles, he defeated John Cincola and Eric Roddy in straight games. He then faced Connor Garnett and narrowly lost in three.
Goldin’s bigger moment came in men’s doubles with Jay Devilliers. Devilliers was scheduled to play with Quang Duong, who was suspended, so Goldin stepped in.
In the Round of 32, they beat Nikola Jakovljevic and Josh Dow (11-6, 11-6). In the Round of 16, they pushed second-seeded Federico Staksrud and Hayden Patriquin to three games. After winning the first game, they lost the next two in a close battle.
