PPA Tour Asia Vietnam Open 2025: Vietnam will host its first PPA Tour Asia pickleball event, the Vietnam Open, in Ho Chi Minh City from September 4 to 7, 2025. This Tier 3 tournament, organized by the United Pickleball Association (UPA), is creating excitement among players and fans across the country.
Vietnam Joins Growing List of Asian Hosts
The Vietnam Open joins other PPA Tour Asia events previously announced for Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Japan. China will host the Slam event, the top-level tournament on the Tour. The Vietnam Open adds momentum to the sport’s growth in Asia, especially in a country where pickleball is gaining popularity quickly.
Trinh Giang Leads Vietnamese Stars
Vietnam’s Trinh Giang, winner of the men’s singles title at the Malaysia Open, will be a key player in the Vietnam Open. Known for his fast footwork and smart play, Trinh is looking forward to playing at home.
“I can’t wait to play on home soil with the best crowd we have here in Vietnam! I will give my best representing the Vietnamese flag and my team! Vamos! Playing before my home fans will be the honour of my career,” said Trinh Giang.
Other top Vietnamese players like Ken Tam and Sophia Tran will also compete, along with UPA Asia Trailblazers.
MB Bank Becomes Title Sponsor
The Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB) has signed on as the main sponsor of the event. Nguyen Thi Viet Nga, Chief Marketing Officer of MB, shared why the bank is supporting the tournament.
“MB’s support for pickleball transcends tournament sponsorship – it’s about fostering happiness through shared moments of joy and connection. We believe true well-being combines financial health with emotional fulfillment, which is why this partnership holds such significance to us. By championing active communities and meaningful experiences, it perfectly embodies MB Priority’s vision: Happiness in every moment,” said Nguyen Thi Viet Nga.
