Trinh Linh Giang and Yufei Long Dominate Historic Debut of PPA Tour Asia Rankings

PPA Tour Asia Pickleball Rankings: Vietnam’s Trinh Linh Giang and China’s Yufei Long are leading the first-ever Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour Asia rankings. Both athletes earned 1,000 points by winning gold in their singles categories at the Panas Malaysia Open 2025 held last month.

The Panas Malaysia Open 2025 was the opening event of the new PPA Tour Asia. With top players from across Asia and Oceania, the competition marked a strong start for the tour. Each gold medalist was awarded 1,000 points, while silver and bronze finishers earned fewer points based on placement.

Singles Stars Shine in Malaysia

Trinh Linh Giang sits at number one in the men’s singles rankings. He won the final match against India’s Vanshik Kapadia in a tense battle that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Kapadia now holds second place with 800 points.

In the women’s singles, Yufei Long of China earned the top spot after a hard-fought win against Australia’s Nicola Schoeman. Long saved multiple match points before winning the final. Schoeman follows in second place with 800 points.

Hong Kong and Malaysia Players Make Their Mark

Hong Kong’s Jack Wong Hong-kit is third in the men’s singles rankings with 600 points. Malaysia’s Jimmy Liong is fourth with 400 points after both reached the semifinals. Jimmy Liong has promised to improve in the next leg of the tour. Jack Wong Hong-kit is preparing for his home debut at the Hong Kong Open 2025 and aims to win all three categories.

On the women’s side, Tang Nok Yiu of Hong Kong ranks third with 600 points. Huang Hsiang Wen of Chinese Taipei is fourth with 400 points.

Indian Team Leads Men’s Doubles Rankings

India’s Harsh Mehta and Vanshik Kapadia are number one in the men’s doubles rankings. They won gold at the Panas Malaysia Open 2025, boosting their points to 1,000. Australia’s George Wall and Zachary Grabovic, who lost to them in the final, are tied for third place with 800 points.

Japan’s Kenta Miyoshi and Australia’s Lucas Pasoce hold the fifth spot with 600 points.

Women’s Doubles Sees Strong International Mix

In the women’s doubles category, Wei Ting Chieh of Chinese Taipei and Xiao Yi Wang-Beckvall of the United States lead with 1,000 points. Right behind them are China’s Yufei Long and South Korea’s Milhae Kwon. The third-ranked duo is Wang Tin Wen and Yi Kai Fen, both from Chinese Taipei.

This first set of rankings gives players a clear idea of where they stand after the opening tournament. As more events are held, rankings may shift. Athletes like Jack Wong Hong-kit and Jimmy Liong are expected to bring strong performances in upcoming tournaments like the Hong Kong Open 2025.
