LT Pro 48 Pickleball Official Ball PPA Tour: The Carvana Professional Pickleball Association Tour has announced that the LT Pro 48 Pickleball will be the official ball used in all its events starting in August 2025. Developed by Life Time Founder Bahram Akradi and his team, the ball will debut at the PPA tournament in Bristol, Tennessee.
A New Ball for the Pro Level
The LT Pro 48 Pickleball was created to fix issues players face with existing balls. It has evenly spaced holes and special edges that help it fly better and last longer. Bahram Akradi said, “Pickleball is more than a sport – it’s a global movement that has brought together people of all abilities, ages and backgrounds.”
Bahram Akradi added, “Since 2021, we’ve committed to elevating and growing this sport and, with the LT Pro 48, we identified a problem and addressed it by engineering a ball that bounces truer and lasts longer, holding up under the stress of professional play.”
Strong Support from the PPA
Connor Pardoe, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the PPA Tour, also praised the new ball. “The LT Pro 48 has been used at two previous PPA Tour events and has received great feedback from both our professional players and amateurs,” said Connor Pardoe.
He continued, “With the ever-changing standards in pickleball equipment, the LT Pro 48 has really elevated the quality of what a pro-level ball can be, so we are thrilled our relationship with Life Time allows us to utilize this ball at the highest levels of competition.”
Life Time’s Growing Role in Pickleball
Life Time, the company behind the new ball, is known for its focus on health and fitness. It has over 800 pickleball courts and is hosting more tournaments through its clubs. In the first half of 2025, Life Time welcomed 3.1 million pickleball participants. The average member now plays 6.8 times a month, up from 3.8 in 2023.
Life Time has also provided 26,000 pickleball lessons so far this year. Earlier this month, it announced its own major event, the LT Open, to boost singles play and bring top-level competition to more locations.
Venues such as Peachtree Corners in Georgia and Rancho San Clemente in California have already hosted PPA tournaments. Life Time also appointed tennis star Andre Agassi as the first chair of its Pickleball and Tennis Board to help guide its efforts.
What This Means for Pickleball
The LT Pro 48 Pickleball is expected to raise the quality of professional play. As Life Time deepens its partnership with the PPA Tour and continues to grow its programs, both pros and amateurs can expect better gear, more tournaments, and greater access to top-tier pickleball.
