JW Johnson and Andrei Daescu Pickleball Team: Two new men’s doubles pairs have advanced to the quarterfinals of the PPA Tour event in East Tennessee. The No. 3 seeds, JW Johnson and Andrei Daescu, teamed up for the first time on Friday and won their match 11-8, 11-8 against the No. 14 seeds, Jack Sock and Augie Ge. Johnson and Daescu will now face the No. 11 seeds, Tyson McGuffin and Max Freeman.
New Pairing Finds Success
JW Johnson and Andrei Daescu, both experienced players, had never played together before Friday. Usually, both play on the left side when teamed with other partners. However, on Friday, Daescu switched to the right side, a move similar to what he did earlier this year when he won gold with Ben Johns in Cape Coral. This change helped the pair work well together despite being a new team.

Tough Match Leads to Next Round
The match against Jack Sock and Augie Ge was close, but Johnson and Daescu won two straight games with scores of 11-8, 11-8. Their ability to adapt and play strong from both sides helped them secure the win. They will meet Tyson McGuffin and Max Freeman next, who are seeded No. 11, in what should be another exciting match.
The success of these new pairs shows how quickly players can build strong partnerships on the PPA Tour. Johnson and Daescu’s win adds more excitement to the tournament as they compete for the title.
