Rising Star Makes His Mark

Seeded No. 19, Goins had already surprised fans earlier in the week by defeating No. 3 seed Connor Garnett. Since joining the PPA Tour in March, the young talent has quickly built an impressive record, including a win over Ben Johns and a silver medal at the PPA Flower City Challenger earlier this summer.

The 5-star tennis recruit stayed calm under pressure despite losing the opening game to Christian Alshon. His determination and composure helped him turn the match around.

“I’m not sure if I’m feeling it yet,”. “I’m still in a little bit of shock that this happened, honestly.

I’ve always dreamed of being out here on a court in front of all these people and playing against the best in the sport, so it’s a great feeling to come out on top today. I’m excited for tomorrow.”(John Lucian Goins)

Eyes on the Gold

Goins will face either No. 14 seed Noe Khlif or No. 15 seed Gabe Joseph in Sunday’s final. A win would not only give him his first PPA Tour gold medal but also place him firmly among the top young players in professional pickleball. His rapid rise signals that he could be a regular contender for titles in the near future.
