PPA Tour NSW Pickleball Open Brings Record Prize Money and Global Spotlight to Sydney

PPA Tour NSW Pickleball Open Sydney:  NSW Pickleball Open will take place from August 29 to August 31, 2025, at the Auburn Tennis Club, located at 181 Chisolm Road, Auburn, Sydney, New South Wales. More than $20,000 in prize money is up for grabs, and players will compete for 1,000 ranking points in “The Race.”

PPA Tour Australia Overview

The PPA Tour Australia is the official professional pickleball league in Australia. It includes top players, the highest prize pools, and elite events across Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. In 2025, the tour offers more than $1 million in prize money.

Divisions for All Skill Levels

The NSW Pickleball Open welcomes players of all backgrounds. Divisions are based on both skill and age:

  • Skill Levels:

    • 3.49 and below: lower intermediate or new players

    • 3.5 – 4.49: intermediate players ready for competition

    • 4.5+: advanced competitive players

    • Pro 5.0+: elite professionals with top-level experience

  • Age Categories:

    • 18U Juniors: for players under 18 years old

    • 19+: open for ages up to 49

    • 50+: players aged 50 and above

Registration and Requirements

General registration for both players and spectators is open now. All competitors must hold a Pickleball Australia membership and a Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR) account.

The entry fee is $80 per player at the early bird rate, with the first event free.

Event Schedule

The competition will run over three days:

  • Friday: Pro 5.0+ Singles, Pro Masters 50+ Singles, Amateur Singles

  • Saturday: Pro 5.0+ Gender Doubles, Pro Masters 50+ Gender Doubles, Amateur Mixed Doubles, Junior Singles

  • Sunday: Pro 5.0+ Mixed Doubles, Pro Masters 50+ Mixed, Amateur Mixed Divisions, Junior Doubles

Match Formats

Pro divisions will use a double elimination format. Matches will be best of three games to 11, win by 2. Consolation brackets will be one game to 15, win by 2. Medal matches follow the full best of three format.

For the Open 19+ and Masters divisions, matches will be decided through pool play. Games will be one to 15, win by 2, with gold medal matches played best of three to 11, win by 2.

Broadcast and Venue

The Championship Court will be streamed live each day from 10:00 a.m. on the PPA Tour YouTube Channel. Parking will be available on-site and free of charge.

Organizers note that the schedule and format may change due to extended match times, player numbers, or weather delays. Participants are encouraged to plan travel with this in mind.
