Citrus Classic PPA Challenger Tournament: The Citrus Classic PPA Challenger will take place September 5–7, 2025, at IHG Orange Lake Resort in Kissimmee, Florida. Registration costs $70 and closes August 29 at 5 p.m. EST. The event will host both amateur and professional players, with prize money and ranking points on the line.
Amateur Competition
Amateur matches will run alongside the championship court where rising professionals compete. Divisions are open on a first-come, first-served basis, so early registration is encouraged to secure a spot before brackets fill.
Amateur divisions will use different formats based on skill level and number of entries.
Skill levels 5.0 and 4.5 will follow a double-elimination system.
Skill levels 4.0, 3.5, and 3.0 may play round robin pools with or without playoffs, depending on the number of teams.
All brackets will be seeded by DUPR rating, and tournament organizers reserve the right to combine skill or age groups.
Professional Format
Professional players will compete in a double-elimination format with no comebacks. Medal matches will be best two out of three games to 11 points. The PPA will award ranking points, with 125 points going to first place and smaller amounts distributed through the Round of 64.
The official tournament ball will be the LT Pro 48.
Prize Money
The tournament will award $10,000 across five professional disciplines. First, second, and third place finishers in each discipline will share payouts after the event.
Registration Policies
Players must be fully registered and paid, with doubles partners also confirmed, to guarantee participation. If a doubles partner is not registered within seven days, players will be moved to the waitlist. After registration closes, replacements must already be registered in the event and within the same skill or age group.
Refund Policy
Players who withdraw before August 8, 2025, will receive a refund minus a $25 fee. Registration and weather insurance can be purchased to cover cancellations after this date or weather-related disruptions.
Why It Matters
The Citrus Classic PPA Challenger offers local players a chance to compete at the same venue as top professionals while also impacting national rankings and prize distribution. With limited entries and strong competition, the event is expected to draw both experienced competitors and new challengers.
