Queensland Pickleball Slam 2025: $120K Prize Pool, Top Pros, and Rising Stars Set for Epic Showdown in Brisbane

Queensland Pickleball Slam Tournament 2025: The PPA Tour Australia and MLP Australia will return to Brisbane for the Queensland Pickleball Slam and MLPA Event #4 from September 10–14, 2025. The tournament will take place at the Queensland Tennis Centre, with athletes competing for more than $120,000 in prize money and 2,000 points.

Big Stage for Top Players

The event will feature the region’s top pickleball players and 64 athletes from Australia and New Zealand in the MLPA Challenger and MLPA Masters teams. Champions will be crowned during three days of afternoon play, with action across professional, amateur, junior, and masters divisions.

Event Divisions and Categories

The tournament welcomes athletes of all skill levels and age groups.

  • Pro 5.0+: Elite-level players from Australia, New Zealand, and Asia.

  • Open: Open to all ages, rated 2.5–5.0.

  • Masters: For players aged 50+ with a rating of 2.5+.

  • Juniors: Rising stars aged 18 and under.

Skill-based divisions include:

  • 3.49 and below (beginner to intermediate)

  • 3.5–4.49 (advanced-intermediate)

  • 4.5+ (highly advanced)

  • Pro 5.0+ (professional level)

Age divisions include: 18U Juniors, 19+, and 50+.

Event Schedule

  • Thursday: Pro 5.0+ Singles

  • Friday: Pro 5.0+ Mixed Doubles, Pro Masters 50+ Singles, Amateur Singles

  • Saturday: Pro 5.0+ Gender Doubles, Pro Masters 50+ Mixed, Amateur Mixed, Junior Singles

  • Sunday: Pro 5.0+ medal matches, Pro Masters 50+ Gender Doubles, Amateur Gender Doubles, Junior Gender Doubles

Players may compete in two events per day with at least four hours between start times.

Pro Division Format

The registration deadline for professional events is August 28. Qualifying rounds for doubles and mixed doubles will take place on September 11 from 4:00 p.m. Singles will not have qualifiers, as the top 32 seeded teams are given direct entry.

  • Qualifiers: Single elimination to 15, win by 2.

  • Main Draw: Best two of three games to 11, win by 2. Bronze medal matches will also be played.

Automatic entry goes to contracted PPA/MLPA professionals, followed by non-contracted players paired with contracted partners, and then ranked players.

Open and Masters Formats

For players rated 3.0+, pool play will be used. Matches for higher levels may switch to single elimination if draws are large. Most matches will be best of three games to 11, with consolation rounds played to 15.

Registration and Fees

Registration closes September 3 at 11:55 p.m. AEST. Entry costs $90 per player, with the first event free. Parking at the venue will be available and free for attendees.

Refunds are available until the close of registration, minus transaction fees. After registration closes, a medical certificate is required for a refund. Once draws are published, only medical withdrawals will receive partial refunds.
