Jack Wong Hong-kit and Yufei Long Surge to No. 1 in PPA Tour Asia—Can Rivals Upset the Rankings Next Month?

Jack Wong Hong-kit and Yufei Long: Hong Kong’s Jack Wong Hong-kit and China’s Yufei Long are at the top of the latest PPA Tour Asia rankings in Men’s and Women’s Singles. As of 10 September 2025, Hong-kit has 2,400 points, while Long leads with 3,600 points after winning three championships this season.

Jack Wong Hong-kit claimed gold at the Hong Kong Open 2025, earning 1,000 points. He also finished third at the Sansan Fukuoka Open 2025 and the Panas Malaysia Open 2025, adding 600 points each. A quarter-final finish at the MB Vietnam Open 2025 added another 200 points.

Men’s Singles Rankings Tight at the Top

Only 200 points separate Jack Wong Hong-kit from Vietnam’s Trinh Giang, who won the Panas Malaysia Open 2025 and finished second in the Hong Kong Open 2025 (800 points) and fourth in the MB Vietnam Open 2025 (400 points). Vietnam’s Phuc Huynh rounds out the top three with 1,800 points.

Yufei Long Dominates Women’s Singles

China’s Yufei Long has three titles this season, winning the Panas Malaysia Open 2025, Sansan Fukuoka Open 2025, and MB Vietnam Open 2025. Taiwan’s Yu-Chieh Hsieh is second with 1,600 points, thanks to silver medals in the Hong Kong Open 2025 and Sansan Fukuoka Open 2025. Australia’s Nicola Schoeman is third with 1,400 points.

Doubles and Mixed Doubles Standouts

Jack Wong Hong-kit also leads in Men’s Doubles alongside South Korea’s Kim Eunggwon and Australia’s George Wall, each with 2,200 points. Japan’s Kenta Miyoshi and India’s Harshe Mehta are fourth and fifth with 1,700 and 1,400 points.

Taiwan’s Wei Ting Chieh tops Women’s Doubles with 3,200 points. United States’ Xiao Yi Wang-Beckvall is second with 3,000, followed by Yufei Long with 2,800 points.

India’s Vanshik Kapadia leads Mixed Doubles with 1,400 points, narrowly ahead of Australia’s Robert Stirling (1,300) and Joseph Wild (1,200). In Women’s Mixed Doubles, Australians Danni-Elle Townsend and Nicola Schoeman are first and second, with Yufei Long in third.

Upcoming Tournaments Could Shake Rankings

The rankings are expected to remain stable over the next three weeks. However, results from the Vietnam Cup at the end of September and the Malaysia Cup in early October could change the standings.
