French Controls the Right Side
Brandon French shined late in the match, using lobs and quick attacks off the bounce to pressure the No. 2 seeds. His play on the right side created openings for his partner and disrupted the rhythm of Staksrud and Wright.

Jack Sock credited French for setting him up to attack.
“Brandon’s incredible with the wooden paddle, so I let him just ‘Gabe Tardio’ it on the right and just cook over there, and I kind of just became the new ‘Erne King,” he mentioned. “I’m gonna give myself that title.”
