Dylan Frazier Edges Out Eric Roddy at PPA, Reach Men’s Singles Final

Dylan Frazier Edges Out Eric Roddy at PPA: Dylan Frazier has secured his place in the men’s singles final with a decisive 11-7 and 11-7 victory over No. 20 seed Eric Roddy. The match was a nail-biter, with both games tight throughout, tied at 7-7 before Frazier pulled ahead.

A Battle at the Kitchen Line

The contest was marked by intense rallies, with Frazier, the No. 6 seed, showing remarkable composure and skill at the kitchen line. In those crucial moments, Frazier used Roddy’s aggressive pace to his advantage, expertly redirecting volleys to exploit open spaces on the court. This strategic play was pivotal in overcoming the relentless challenge posed by Roddy.

Championship Sunday Beckons

Frazier’s win propels him to Championship Sunday, a momentous occasion as it marks his first appearance in a PPA singles final since January. Back then, he clinched gold at the PPA Masters in Palm Springs, CA. Returning to the final is a significant milestone for Frazier, who acknowledges the demanding journey it has taken to get here.

“I was hoping [my next singles final] would come a little sooner. I felt like I had some momentum from the Masters tournament, but the results haven’t been there. The field is great these days—every single round is tough, and it’s never an easy route to the finals. I’m excited to get another shot at it.” – (Frazier)

Roddy’s Future in Focus

For Eric Roddy, this semifinal appearance was a first in his PPA career. Although he fell short of reaching the final, Roddy will have the opportunity to compete for his first PPA medal in the upcoming bronze medal match.
