Event Format
MLPlay Format: The Dink Minor League Pickleball introduces an innovative and engaging format where teams of 4 players (2 women and 2 men) compete in a dynamic match setup. The MLPlay format includes:
- Four 21-point Games:
- Women’s Doubles
- Men’s Doubles
- Two Mixed Doubles
- Dreambreaker: If the match ends in a 2-2 tie, a Dreambreaker will be played. In this tiebreaker, one player from each team plays singles against the other team’s player, switching every four rallies until a player reaches 21 points with a two-point lead.
DUPR Divisions
- DUPR 20: Team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 20.99
- DUPR 18: Team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 18.30
Maximum individual player DUPR: 5.10 - DUPR 16: Team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 16.30
Maximum individual player DUPR: 4.60 - DUPR 14: Team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 14.30
Maximum individual player DUPR: 4.10 - DUPR 12: Team’s aggregate DUPR must not exceed 12.30
Maximum individual player DUPR: 3.60
Note: Once registered, a team’s DUPR ratings are locked, and any changes will not affect division placement.
Registration & Requirements
- DUPR Account: Required for all participants at registration. Unrated players can compete, but their estimated rating will be verified by the tournament director.
- Single Registrations: If registering individually but part of a team, note the team name and DUPR division. If you cannot form a team, the tournament director will assist in placement, with refunds available for unplaced players.
- Substitute Players: Substitutes can be added by logging into Swish or submitting details directly to the tournament organizer. The substitute’s DUPR must not cause the team’s aggregate to exceed the event’s limit.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
- Cancellation Deadline: To receive a refund minus a $5 technology fee and a 3% processing fee, cancellations must be received by the end of the day 15 days prior to the event start date. For example, if the event starts on October 12, 2024, cancellation must be received by 11:59 PM local time on September 27, 2024. No refunds will be issued after this date.
- Individual Registration Refund Policy: Individual registrations are not guaranteed placement on a team. Players who sign up individually and are not placed on a team will receive a full refund minus the $5 technology fee and 3% processing fee within 3-5 business days after the event ends.
