Noe Khlif and Bobbi Oshiro Shake Up PPA Atlanta Slam with Major Upset

Noe Khlif and Bobbi Oshiro Shake Up PPA Atlanta Slam: The PPA Tour’s latest highlight, the CIBC Atlanta Slam presented by Vizzy, has kicked off in Atlanta. This dynamic tournament, featuring a progressive draw, ensures that all five events are in action daily. Tuesday’s schedule was dominated by Round of 64 matches, setting the stage for an exhilarating week of pickleball.

Emerging Competition in French Pickleball

Jay Devilliers has long been regarded as the premier pickleball player from France. However, his dominance is now being challenged by fellow countryman Noe Khlif. Since first witnessing Khlif’s singles play early in 2024, it was clear that he had potential, particularly in doubles.

Despite needing stronger partners, Khlif found a promising one in Bobbi Oshiro for this tournament. Oshiro, a solid right-side player with limited exposure on the PPA Tour, teamed up with Khlif to secure a significant victory. They defeated the #5 seed pair, Vivienne David and Wyatt Stone, with scores of 11-4, 4-11, and 11-7, advancing to the Round of 32. This match was the standout upset of Day 1. Khlif and Oshiro are set to face the #25 seed duo, Milan Rane and Jaume Martinez Vich, in what promises to be an exciting clash.
