From November 3-10, the Lapiplasty Pickleball World Championships will once again take over Brookhaven Country Club in Farmers Branch, marking the second year the venue has hosted the prestigious event. Organized by the Carvana Professional Pickleball Association (PPA), this fan-driven tournament is part of a tour featuring 26 competitions across 16 states. The pickleball event, sponsored by Lapiplasty, a leading company in bunion correction surgery, is set to attract the world’s top pickleball talent.
Open to All: Pros and Amateurs Players
What sets this championship apart is its inclusivity—both amateurs and professionals can compete. While top-tier players battle it out on the Humana Championship Court for a sizable cash prize, amateur competitors will be playing side by side, bringing a unique mix of participants. Men’s and women’s singles, doubles, and mixed doubles matches will offer something for players of all skill levels.
“The competition is intimidating only in name. We have a spot for everyone in this tournament, regardless of if you’ve even picked up a paddle before.” – (PPA Tour Vice President of Communications Jeff Watson)
More Than Just Pickleball: Concerts and Celebrities
The Lapiplasty Pickleball World Championships are more than just a sporting event—they’re a full-on festival. Guests can enjoy the Pickleball Boulevard Concert Series, featuring live music from Morgan Evans, Tigerlily Gold, Sadie Pass, and Payton Smith.
In addition, a celebrity pickleball showdown on November 7 will feature Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki, following in the footsteps of last year’s event, which included Tony Romo, Jason Kidd, and Scottie Scheffler and drew over 3,000 spectators.
The bleacher-style seating around the courts will offer premium views for over 2,000 attendees, including several hundred VIP ticket holders.
Creating a Festival Atmosphere
To accommodate the scale of the event, “Pickleball Boulevard” will be created between the parking lot and Brookhaven’s clubhouse. Watson described the boulevard as a vibrant area packed with dozens of vendors, food courts, and temporary pickleball courts for visitors to jump in and play.
“The venue itself is primed to host a tournament like this, because of the availability to create this festival-like atmosphere … it’s hard to find a great venue that can take an event of our scale. When we go out and market the pickleball world championships, that name can be intimidating to a lot of people … there’s a spot for everyone in this tournament, regardless of if you’ve even picked up a paddle before.” – (Watson)
The event will also feature side activities, such as a singles pickleball mixer and a PPA Joola Pro Camp, offering something for everyone—from beginners seeking lessons to seasoned players looking for more game time.
“We have more than 50 clinics, mixers and events that are pickleball specific, but across a wide variety of touchpoints. We’re stoked for that, for the championship helping grow the game, because there’s a point of entry for everyone, which is kind of the Ethos of pickleball.” – (Watson)
