Wright’s Injury Forces Withdrawal
Etta Wright, who had been primed to compete in both women’s doubles and mixed doubles, is now sidelined due to an injury sustained during last week’s Major League Pickleball (MLP) playoffs in Orlando. The injury has not only ruled her out of the Finals but also forced her to miss the Texas Ranchers‘ DreamBreaker match against the St. Louis Shock. That absence allowed Pierina Imparato to step in as an alternate for Texas.
Brascia and Dizon Step Up
Mary Brascia will take over Wright’s spot in women’s doubles, joining forces with Meghan Dizon in the ATP Pool. Dizon will also fill in for Wright in the mixed doubles competition, partnering with James Ignatowich. Together, they will attempt to make their mark at the event, stepping in as late replacements for the seasoned 11-time PPA medalist.
